I debated long and hard about running inside vs. outside this morning.

Pros to running inside: I would have a TV to distract me, the weather would be a comfortable 68*, but I really dislike the treadmill.

Or my other option: running outside in the fresh air, no treadmill monotony, and in the sunshine with clear skies and 58*!!!

Surprise!! I’m not in Alaska anymore!!

I’m in North Carolina!!

On Wednesday night, right after work, I bolted out of school, drove straight to the airport and caught a plane out of Alaska. Fifteen hours later I arrived in Raliegh, NC to spend Thanksgiving with my sister!!

(Oh, and by the way this picture was taken at 4:45 p.m.)

My sister and I spent Thursday and Friday running, shopping, touring the area, and spending as much time as possible OUTSIDE!!

Then, on Saturday, I had a second surprise. My parents flew into Raleigh, but they had NO idea I was going to be in North Caolina at the same time they were!

Surprise, Mom and Dad!!

They were so shocked; it was great to see their reaction!!

I can’t get over how beautiful it has been here!! I never want to leave!!

  1. Welcome to my home state and the city of my alma mater! I know I am biased but I do have to say that North Carolina is a fabulous state! (But be glad it is not 100 degrees with 100% humidity aka the summer… absolutely terrible!) Enjoy your trip!

  2. Awesome! Peter thought I should comment that it is that dark here at 4:45pm, but I pointed out that it’s still that dark at 9:00am in Anchorage! Anyway, I’m glad you had some family or origin time!

    • Yeah, the sun currently sets at 4 p.m., so it is already starting to get dark around 3:30 p.m. 😦 And the official sunrise is at 9:30 a.m. 😦

  3. Awww- you look so adorable and happy in those photos! I’m so sorry that you have to go back to the land of darkness. 😦 At least you have AMAZING beauty around you that most of us don’t get to ever see!!
